Hello, my son is experiencing abdominal pain, in the past 2 nights, not sure what is causing it? He is able to go to the bathroom, it's not a sharp pain. Complaining that his belly really hurts. Any home remedies that I could use to ease the pain. Also had given him 2 advil for the pain already.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hi Thank you for asking HCM. I have gone through your query. Abdominal pain can be due to gastritis also. In such case advil ( ibuprofen) can worsen it. Warm water bag application on abdomen will give relief in case of gastritis. You can also give antacids or OTC h2 blockers like ranitidine (zantac). If he is having painful urination then it can be due to urinary infection and in such case a urine routine examination will be helpful to rule out that. If you update me with full details like location of pain, aggravating or relieving factors if any etc it will be more helpful to analyse your condition. A consultation with your GP is well appreciated. Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear. Thanks.
