Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello ..I recently went to the emergency room for 2abscess underneath both breasts.. I was prescribed antibiotics cause they were very hard like and since then one has opened on its own..while the other one has the same symptoms but still L has not drained on its on its starting to look a lil dark in the center.. What should I do..
Kindly mention the size of abscess. For abscess, if size is small than initially antibiotic course is prescribed. But if abscess is not resolved by antibiotic then incision and drainage might be needed along with antibiotic course. Then after dressing is done for minimum week until it heals. Consult surgeon for examination and let surgeon decide if incision and drainage are required or not.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Parth Goswami
