Suggest Treatment For Acanthosis Nigricans On The Neck And Lips

Sir,I was having subclinical hypothyroidism for which I took treatment and thyroid levels are normal now.I am having acanthosis nigricans....around lips ,neck.....I thought it is due to hypothyroidism but thyroid condition got corrected but acanthosis nigricans has not got corrected.....i am nt having any other endocrine pathology,any malignancy and no DM.......plz suggest me the treatment for this ugly appearance......I am female 22yrs old

I really appreciate your concern, the causes of acanthosis is poorly understood but most of the time it could be genetically inherited, it may be due to thyroid dysfunction but it needs classification, symptomatic treatment can be tried till the picture being cleared best drug would be "Hydroquinone cream if this is really due to the endocrine pathology then it will come around once the underlying cause being given right treatment and it may take some time be patience hope this information helps.
