Hello,

I can understand your concern for the recurring rash on the neck of your son with a possibility of Acanthosis nigricans. After analyzing the query I can get that your son probably have Atopic eczema condition rather than acanthosis nigricans. As you mentioned that you have the skin condition recurring at neck region so the best possibility is of Atopic eczema. Acanthosis nigricans is basically a condition of adults and is not generally seen in children.
In my patients with your kind of situation I generally prescribe mild topical steroid cream to be applied over the affected area to get best relief. It is also quite important to take antihistamine such as cetrizine or Benadryl for earliest improvement. You can take further guidance from a dermatologist.
All the best.
