Suggest Treatment For Accidental Consumption Of Ibuprofen By Children

my 1 1/2 year old daughter found one of my ibuprofen pills and put it in her mouth but did not swallow it, I caught it before she did but she had a taste of it, I gave her juice to wash it out and she is acting normal, but I am concerned, what do I do, please help?

Thanks for your question.

After going through your question, I can understand your concern.

Ibuprofen is safely used in children even of the age of your daughter.

As your daughter has not swallowed the tablet there is possibility of less than 50 % of Medicine has been invested, which can be considered as overdose for your daughter.

It may cause some gastritis and hyper-acidity.

As your daughter has taken juice after that and behaving normally, there may not be need for medical attention at present.

Watch for her feeding, activity, level of consciousness, any vomiting.
If everything is normal for 12 to 24 hours there is no need to worry.
