Suggest Treatment For Accidental Ingestion Of Xanax By A 5 Year Old
My almost five year old found a Xanax half milligram that I dropped on the floor and couldn t find, I saw her chewing something and sure enough it was that half milligram Xanax. Will she simply sleep or could her breathing stop? She s also on her pediatric dose of benadryl for nighttime allergies that cause her to couch due to postnatal drip. Will she be alright or should I take her to the er?
As of now, nothing has to be done. Just observe her. If she develops any drowsiness or convulsions, rush her to the hospital. No antidote is indicated at present.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
