Hello,
Shoulder blade pain is usually achy and dull but sometimes it is perceived as burning sensation. The following are few causes:
1) Muscle strains - Muscle strains can result from, poor posture, heavy lifting, working at a computer for extended periods of time, exercise, other activities, even during sleep.
2) Injuries like
rotator cuff tears, shoulder dislocation
3) Degenerative disc disease, or a herniated or bulging disc in the spine
4) Scoliosis
5)
Osteoarthritis in the joints around your neck, spine, or ribs
6)
Spinal stenosis, or a narrowing of your spinal cord
7) Acid reflux
8) Fibromyalgia
9) Shingles
10) Myofascial pain syndrome
11) Nerve compression
Though clinical examination is necessary and few investigations like X-ray shoulder joint and X-ray cervical and thoracic spine help in arriving at accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment. Treatment depends upon the cause.
1) You can take a NSAID like Aceclofenac along with a
muscle relaxant like
Chlorzoxazone for pain relief
2) You may use opioids like Hydrocodone, Oxycodone and Tramadol.
Please do consult an orthopedic surgeon for clinical evaluation
