Thank you for contacting HCM.
We would like to know the type of surgery you had for
perforated ulcer which can determine the actual issue.
Some times people can have small bowel obstruction related to the surgery which in turn can give you loud burping etc.
Do you vomit Bile, if so that favors towards small bowel obstruction. please see the doctor urgently. otherwise --
If it is related to
acid reflux alone, Are you taking medications for acid reflux. Please inform us the name of the medication, dose and how often are you taking.
If you are not taking any medication for acid reflux, please start taking them. You can try
proton pump inhibitors (PPI) like
omeprazole 40 mg 30 minutes before eating for atleast a weak. after a weak you can cut down the dose to 20 mg daily.
Please also follow some of these if it is acid reflux,
-- eat small amounts more often.
-- do not eat your big meal close to your sleep.
-- use 2-3 pillows when you sleep at night.
-- at least spend 2 hours in upright position after eating before going to sleep.
-- avoid sour foods which can aggravate acid reflux.
Good luck.
