I have acute laryngopharyngitis and was extremely ill from Monday to Friday and now still unable to vocalize and have a very sore throat, cough ad congestion. I saw the Dr. on Tuesday, when should I be concerned about returning to see a doctor if symptoms do not abate?
Hi, If your symptoms have lasted for more than 6 days then you will need a course of antibiotics preferably of the penicillin group. Practice voice rest and drink plenty of warm fluids, avoid cold foods and air conditioning. Regards, Dr Rajkishori Godhi (MS eNT)
