Suggest Treatment For Acute Pain In Knee

I am having pain in my left knee. I started feeling this pain when I stood up after I stood up from a frog sit. Then it worsened after cooling doen from playing Basketball. The pain starts in the posterior portion going to the center of the knee. I cannot fully extend my knee without feeling the pain. If I extend my knee with a plantar flexed ankle, I can bear the pain. But if it is dorsi flexed, I cannot bear it. There is also pain when I medially rotate my knees when it is flexed.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear,

The symptoms as mentioned in your post can be attributed to musculo-skeletal injury.
X ray & MRI of the knee joint will be helpful in detecting any bone fracture or ligament injury.

Symptomatic relief can be obtained by heat therapy, application of analgesic & muscle relaxant gel, intake of analgesics like Diclofenac (to be taken after food) + Pantoprazole (to be taken 30 minutes before meals).
Supplements of Calcium & Vitamin D can be included in his diet which will help in strengthening of bones.

If symptoms still persist, kindly consult an Orthopedician for proper clinical examination.
Till then, he should maintain adequate hydration & nutrition status, take proper rest and avoid stress.

Wishing your friend a Good Health.
Take care.
