Suggest Treatment For Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome

I have a bad cough that started over a week ago with just a sore throat and flu like symptoms. 6 years ago I was diagnosed with bacterial pneumonia called pneumococcal that turned into Acute Respiratory Distress syndrome with multi organ failure. Since then I am now scared when I get sick and cannot stop coughing which is now. How can I tell if I need or don t need a chest x Ray ?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Treatment for acute respiratory failure consists of no 1 specific therapy directed toward the under lying disease no 2 respiratory supportive care directed toward the maintainance of adequate gas exchange no3 general supportive care. You must have an xray of chest to see any pathology if exsists IN your case treatment is if i have to treat such a patient to treat the under lying cause that is infection due to your sore throat and flu like symptoms you must be having lung infection, to rule out xray will be helpfull. For infection i will advice inj amoxy cv 1gm iv three times a day inj ciprofloacin one bottle iv twice a day inj deriphylline iv and metronidazole suspension iv.
