Suggest Treatment For Acute Sinusitis

Jorrrion H. Belinsky , M.D. age 64. I developed acute sinusitis over my left maxilla. I went into the rm here in west des moines IOwa. I was given cefuroxime axetil yesterday. today I am must worse, in pain. and fell terrible.

Hello,

Well, the pain is due to infection in your sinus, causing inflammation and congestion. You should continue taking antibiotic as it is just one day, and it takes time for the infection to subside.

To reduce the pain, you need to take anti-inflammatory painkillers like Advil and along with it, you should use decongestant nasal sprays like Oxymetazoline. Also, do steam inhalation and saline nasal irrigation. Use a humidifier in your room. You will start feeling better in two to three days.
