Suggest Treatment For Adenocarcinoma In An Elderly Person
My 84 yr old dad has been diagnosed with adenocarcinoma of the lung. Poorly differentiated. We have decided on hospice care for him, based on his overall health. They aren t positive, but a scan of his spine offered indication (thickening of tissues, etc) that it may have spread. We were told he may have 3-6 months. Based on what I m observing in my Dad, I don t think we have that long. I m looking for a best guess estimate of life expectancy...
Hi sir, I have gone through your query and I can understand understand your concerns.
As per your history your father is having terminal stage of adenocarcinoma lung and i think you are well aware of that. Its sad to inform you that there is no scope for curative treatment. All we can do is palliative treatment.Which include palliative chemotherapy and radiation. This palliative treatment significantly reduce his morbidity,Pain and breathing problems definitely improve with this treatment.palliative chemo radiation also increase life expectancy and he can have a relatively healthier time as compared to taking no treatment at all. Consult a oncologist regarding the treatment option and he will guide you accordingly.
