Suggest Treatment For After Accidentally Swallowing A Shard Of Glass
I was at work and opened up a bottle of water and I think is small piece of glass from the cooler where we store our beer at my bar me may have broken and a very small shards of glass has been swallowed and now is lodged in the side of my throught. What can I do about this? What are the procedures? Is it serious? More annoying than painful.
Hello, greetings! Thanks for posting your query. Glass pieces lodged in any part of the digestive tract is very dangerous as it may lead to internal bleeding or an adverse inflammatory reaction. You should immediately see a surgeon, who will probably run some tests to see the extent till which the glass shards are lodged. If need be, he might remove them under anaesthesia. Any external object lodged in the body is always a cause for concern as there is always a risk of internal bleeding, infection or perforation. please consult your local surgeon at the earliest.
