Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
hi iam reneve i want to ask my daughter 2 years old and 8 months are having amebiasis this is dangerous to her? or what kind of foods to avoid to eat, im very worrying my daughter.the doctor give her metronizasole syrup for ten day and she give erza flora for 5 days and zinc is for 3 month,im not sure if the amebiasis well remove in her stomach? or she well bring that virus until she become old?
Fortunately, it is easily treated as your doctor has with Metronidazole. Much of the time this treats any cysts that may still be in the intestines, but another medicine (like Paromomycin) to kill these cysts is usually still recommended - I'd suggest you ask your doctor if he or she would agree with this recommendation.
Amebiasis is caused by a parasite and is usually spread through unclean water or food. In order to avoid getting this again, it is important to use clean water and wash uncooked food with clean water.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Aaron Branch,
General & Family Physician
