Suggest Treatment For An Abscess Near Rectum
I had a abscess about the size of a large grape drained within an inch of my rectum and packed 2 days ago..the doctor told me to remove the packing myself if it doesn t fall out on its own..there s still a hard lump and slightly tender..is this normal or should I go back in and get it drained again?

After drainage of the abscess, the packing needs to be removed else it can lead to infection. There is no need to get the abscess drained. However, you may visit your doctor again for a clinical assessment of the drained cavity.
