I have an enlarged Prostate ,PSA around 1.0 . Evacuating my balder has been difficult. Over this past weekend it became impossible. Called my DR. early Monday AM. They took me in immediately did a sonogram and inserted a catheter and draine620 units. Told to stick the the catheter for a week and come back. Not sure what is going on?
The enlarged prostate is compressing the bladder neck and thus causing urinary retention. Surgical removal the prostate will be the treatment of choice. You can opt for surgical procedures like TURP.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
