Suggest Treatment For An Indentation In Head After Hitting It
Hi. I bumped my head on a sharp surface earlier today and it left a dent in my skull. I have not experienced any concussion symptoms, although I did feel a little bit dizzy for about a minute after the incident. I can still remember everything before and after it happened.
I'm just a little concerned about the fact that it left a dent. I would have expected a bump. What should I do? Thank you.
Hi welcome to Healthcaremagic, Please do mention your age, since it is crucial for decision making in such situations. As per the history I think more than 24hours have passed since the incident and you are still fine. You didn't have any symptoms of a head injury like vomiting, loss of consciousness, altered sensorium, seizure episodes or persistent headache. But since there is a depression or dent as you have told you can go for an X Ray of the skull or a plain CT Scan of head (not to be done in pregnancy)which can pick up small fractures, after consulting your nearby surgeon. Please do consult via Healthcaremagic in case of any doubt. Thank you.
