Suggest Treatment For Anemia And High WBC Count During Pregnancy
My daughter is pregnant in her 7th month and has anemia and a WBC count of 12.8. She has had anemia for 2 months even though she is taking a prenatal with iron AND an extra iron tablet. My concern is that she is alway flushed, feels too warm in 50 degree weather and her lab results show low RBC, HGB, HCT and MPV with a normal platelet count. Her Ob sends her to her regular Dr. and her regular Dr. sends her to the Ob...and I am concerned that this is not IRON deficiency anemia.

Yes it could be some other anemia. Get her a full blood workup including peripheral smear and anemia profile study.
Once we know the cause then only we can treat it.
