Suggest Treatment For Ankle Sprain

Fell on Monday and heard a pop in my ankle. Ankle swelled right away. Hurt to walk on it so i rested. By end of day had bruising on it. Yesterday bruising was bad but now it s starting to fade. Still walk with a limp but if I put my shoe on or set my ankle on anything I get extreme pain.

Hi,

Please do not worry, it is sprain of the ankle joint with soft tissue injury but we cannot rule out fracture or dislocation. I would suggest you immediately go for an X-ray which shall rule out dislocation or fracture. If there is something like that you need to consult an orthopedician to repair it otherwise simple rest, icing and some anti inflammatory drugs can help. It will take time to heal in both the cases. Please take rest and good care of your ankle joint.

Hope that helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Thanks,
Dr. M Zahoor Bhat
