Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi. I was hoping to get some insight into ankylosing spondylitis and ehlers danlos syndrome. I recently had sacroiliac xrays done that show osteoarthritic changes to the si joint, and I have several other symptoms of AS. I am being sent to a genetic specialist as well for EDS. I was diagnosed with and had a spinal fusion for spondylolisthesis at 26, without any explanation for what caused the injury. I am always fatigued, bruise easily, and for years I have felt that my hip was popping in and out of position.
Hello,my name is dr,Dorina Gurabardhi.I understand your concern. Some advices that I can give to you are: -Work with a physical therapist. Exercise is an important part of everyday treatment. When you strengthen the muscles that support the spine, you can boost your flexibility and lower pain. - Use heat or ice. -Take frequent breaks -Practice good posture. -Eat healthy food, foods with anti-inflammatory propertiessuch as those high in omega-3 fatty acids (like salmon) could help. -Use non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs These include medications like ibuprofen and naproxen. -Use corticosteroids if NSAIDs aren't enough to control your joint pain. Hope my answer was helpful,if you have any other question I will be glad to answer, thanks!
