Suggest Treatment For Anxiety And Depression Despite Taking Paxel
I have aniexty and depression....I have talked to a therapist and seen my doctor but all they gave me was paxel and its really not working...I told my doctor and all he did was gave me another medicine. I cry when frustrated and am sad all the time and very lonely. When I get really bad I call a hotline to calm myself down and just talk to someone. I have tried a lot of things but NOTHING is working...what medicine would you recoommend. My very close friend gave me valium and that seem to work but I was scared to ask my doctor.
Valium and similar meds are not used commonly for anxiety or/and depression any longer because they cause dependence and higher and higher doses are eventually needed for the same effect.
They can only be used safely for short periods of time, they belong to the benzodiazepine family. Your doctor should consider changing the Paxil if it is not working for you.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Michelle Gibson James, General & Family Physician
