sir in the year 2006 due to an anxity attack i suffered a lot and i showed to a dcotor and dcotor advised me xet cr 12.5mg and after 10 days xet cr 25mg i was recovered with that but agin in the yr 2011 i face an another faer and anxitey shall i continue with the same drug? does it have any side effect?
You had episode of anxiety in 2006 and was prescribed Xet CR or Paroxetine for that. Initially the doses were 12.5 and later increased to 25 mg per day. It resulted in benefit in symptoms. Again since 2011 you have developed anxiety and another fear. As per my opinion you should visit your psychiatrist again and consult for drugs. Paroxetine can prove useful but it should be taken with proper prescription only.
The drug belongs to SSRI group of antidepressants and is safe to use. It is associated with nausea, vomiting, dizziness, sedation, constipation, blurred vision etc side effects. In high doses it may cause delayed ejaculation as side effect which is reversible. Consult your psychiatrist for confirmation of diagnosis and for prescription of drug.
Thanks, hope this helps you.
