Suggest Treatment For Anxiety Attack

Good evening, 2 days ago I had like an anxiety attack and I was like non stop crying and all in a sudden I started coughing and my throat got tight and I couldn't breathe, my chest got tight and I felt like one of my lungs collapsed. I only get asthma symptoms when I have an upper respiratory infection or bronchitis. My daughter is asthmatic and I carry a rescue inhaler for her. I tried to reach for it did like around six puffs but I couldn't breathe so I reached out for her nebulizer and I took a Benadryl. After 3 vials of albuterol and the Benadryl, I was able to breathe a little bit better but I am not sure what really happened. I currently have no alergies or a cold. Can you get short of breath and anaphilactic shock symptoms from an anxiety attack and lots of crying? I don't understand but I felt like I was going to die from the tightness of my throat and I coulnd't get any air in my lungs. I am still feeling weak from the experience and just talking a little bit makes me feel short of breath. Any insights or thoughts of what might happened will be greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

Hi
Thanks for using healthcare magic

In your case, it could be panic attack or asthmatic attack. You need proper evaluation by a physician. In case, all test come normal, then you can think about anxiety attack. Usually panic attack can happen any time and look like asthmatic attack or cardiac arrest. Before making diagnosis, possibility to rule out other physical disorder is necessary. In case, you need further help, you can ask.

Thanks
