Hi,I am Dr. Alexander H. Sheppe (Psychiatrist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I'm a 67 year old female. I have had balance issues for several years (ataxia). My eyesight is getting fuzzy-don't wear glasses. My eyes don't always tract together. I have been under unusual stress lately and there is family history. Is it possible that I have an anxiety disorder? And if so, what can I do about it?
Hi there, anxiety disorder can run in the family but it starts at early age around 20 to 30 years of age. In your case it is unlikely that familial anxiety disorder will occur at this age. If you develop some anxiety, it is most likely due to some other reason which needs to be find out. So if you are suffering from anxiety now, I suggest you consult a Psychiatrist and start on treatment. All the best
