hi ive been taking paxil for about 8 weeks now for a anxiety disorder and for a couple weeks i felt pretty good, but for the past 2 weeks I've been having more and more breathing issues(throat feels tight, light headedness), so I took alprazolam today on top of that(the medicine i was on before paxil), and now my heart rate is up around 100 or so for the last couple hours... id think alprazolam would make my heart rate go down not up? any ideas? i dont feel too bad outside of feeling groggy from the medicine.

Suggest Treatment For Anxiety Disorder
Hi. I had gone through your query. Increase heart is result of anxiety and alprazolam is anxiolytic. It can bring heart rate down. Increase heart rate in spite of taking alprazolam suggest you had still panic and require add on medicines to control it. Clonazepam and peroxetine are good alternative. Paxil contains peroxetin and daily intake may prevent such further attack. Consult psychiatrist and get evaluate your self. Besides medicines behavior therapy and psychotherapy can help. Glad to help you further. Thank you.
