hi.. i dont know whether u have consulted any psychiatrist before or not. but panic attacks usually occur without any reason, all of a sudden. in which there are so many symptoms are present, but every person does not have same symptoms. common symptoms are
palpitation, perspiration, mild
chest pain, feeling of butterfly in the abdomen,
dizziness, giddiness, nausea even
vomiting, difficulty in breathing,
tingling and numbness in limbs, heaviness of the head and most important is feeling of going crazy or feeling of impeding doom etc.. these symptoms start suddenly and gradually increase in severity within 10 minutes and resolves on its own within another 5 mnts. this isa panic attack. when person has this kind of experience, he first thinks about
heart attack n rus to the cardiologist, after ECG and other investigation he is usually referred to a psychiatrist to rule out anxiety disorder. when person is worried about these symptoms he has fear that this will happen again and what will he do at that time? gradually the frequency of the attacks gradually increases.
these panic attacks may be situational like, occurs when person is in a crowded place, while in a bus, at height, on a bridge..
