Hi,I am Dr. Alexander H. Sheppe (Psychiatrist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi I am a 16 year old girl. I have extreme anxiety and social anxiety disorders but the main on I want to ask about is...I have suffered from a severe phobia of diarrhea since I was 7 years old. I haven't heard of anyone who suffers from this specific phobia.
Hello, Thanks for choosing health care magic for posting your query. I have gone through your question in detail and I can understand what you are going through. Phobia can be very varied and although you might not have heard of this, this is still possible. This will require proper treatment both medical and psychological. Among the medicines escitalopram or paroxetine are the drugs that are useful. Or else is you are averse to taking medicines then there is an option of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). This therapy is taken by either a psychologist or a psychiatrist in which the therapist identifies impaired cognitions (Thoughts) and try to correct them. They are 15-20 min weekly session and there should be around 8-10 sessions to help you with your illness. Hope I am able to answer your concerns. If you have any further query, I would be glad to help you. In future if you wish to contact me directly, you can use the below mentioned link: bit.ly/dr-srikanth-reddy
