Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am an active 69 years old and I ve recently been diagnosed with aortic stenosis, moderate. My EF is 35% to 40%. The problem have been there for over 2 years. Until recently I ve been riding my bike 60 plus miles a week, working out at the gym, etc. Is it best to have the valve replaced soon? I do not want to continue in the state I am experiencing.
Hi Thank you for sharing with HCM I read your query and understand your concern Dear replacement is needed when stenosis is severe or the symptoms happens oftenly If you will experience syncop or dispne oftenly replacement should be done You should be aware that treatment can protect your valvule to stay at these stage for a long time You should discuss with your doctor If symptoms don't let you live a normal life replacement is needed Wish you good health and fast recovery Feel free to contact me further questions or queries Regards Dr Drilona Kenga Cardiologist
