Is Valsartan 320 Unsafe For Patients Suffering From Aortic Stenosis?
I have Severe aortic stenosis with high blood pressure. My primary treatment for Hypertension is Valsartan 320 for the past 6 years. which has been successful. In preparation for an heart cathetorization a cardiac physician advised me to discontinue the valsartan because this treatment was ill-advised for patients with aortic stenosis. I am extremely conflicted because no other physicians or NP providers have advised of this caution?
Dear I read your medical detail and understanding your concern and I would like to tell you that, Valsarten is a very good medicine to control your blood pressure. But the patients with Aortic Stenosis are documented to have Renal Artery Stenosis as well. In Renal stenosis Valsarten is not advisable. It can increase your creatinine level and lead to renal failure. So better to go with the advise of your cardiologist and to switch to the drugs advised .
Good Luck
