Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I just had a baby 3 weeks ago and have found 2 lumps under my armpit that I have never noticed before. I have had trouble producing enough milk and have supplemented with formula and used an electric pump to get milk for my daughter. The only reason I noticed them is because one was hurting me. Is this common? Should I be concerned? Thanks
Nothing to worry- its is called axillary tail of breast, an extension of breast tissue towards axilla. Usually these are minimal and unnoticeable, but becomes prominent and a bit painful / tender during pregnancy and lactation because of hormonal changes.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam TK, Pediatrician
