Hello,

Pain killers in arthritis gives only temporary relief, till the effects of the medicines last in body. You have arthritis in jaw meaning your lower jaw bone is coming into continuous friction with the temporal bone to which it is attached. Normally, there is a cushion like disc between these two bones that prevents friction. But as you have arthritis, the disc is degenerated or damaged.

In that case, you should visit a oral and maxillofacial surgeon and discuss your case according to symptoms. There are more than one treatments available for the condition ranging from medicines, exercise, corticosteroid injection into the joint cavity to surgery of the TMJ to put a graft between two bones and eliminate friction. The choice of treatment depends on the level of degeneration or damage that can be assessed by maxillofacial surgeon after x-ray and CT scan.

Until you visit a surgeon, you can switch to SN 15 (Nimesulide 100 mg + Serratiopeptidase 15 mg) or Diclogesic SP (Paracetamol 500 mg + Diclofenac 50 mg + Serratiopeptidase 15 mg) twice a day for pain relief. It will give more potent and faster effects than Ibuprofen or Celecoxib.

Polyps in sinus do not have any relation with TMJ arthritis. However, you may need to consult an ENT surgeon if they are troubling you.

I hope this information helps. Thank you for choosing HealthCareMagic. I wish you feel better soon.

Best,
Dr. Viraj Shah
