General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Tick bite may cause Lyme disease which can cause arthritis. So, it can be that a patient suffers arthritis due to a tick bite (if he was infected with Borrelia).

On the other hand, at 60 years of age, there are many causes of arthritis so he needs to be examined and probably have some blood tests to confirm the cause of his arthritis and the needed treatment.

I hope this answers your query.
I remain at your disposal for further medical assistance.
