Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My mom is tired all the time and she hurts. she was tested for arthritis so she could go to a specialist but the tests came back ok? What ever that means. She is 80 yrs old and lives upnorth Michigan and only sees a PA. Not getting any answers from her and not sure what type of doctor she should see because we do not know the cause of the pain or fatigue. She also has COPD. If you could point me in a direction of where she should go from here I would really appreciate it. Thank you Leatha
Hi i am Dr Ahmed Aly thanks for using HealthcareMagic site , I had gone through your question and understand your concerns ..
I hope she feels better soon , from your given history the tiredness , pain , fatigue at an age of 80 , arthritis and a history of COPD is highly suggestive to anemia or deficiency of any kind .sometimes physiotherapy and some multivitamins is effective in most of cases . I recommend a neurologist or a rheumatologist will be fine with further clinical investigations like blood CBC , urine and stool analysis and follw them up with her physician for proper evaluation and management.
