Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Yes I am being treated for an URI. I have Asthma and COPD. i had double Pnuemonia a year ago and was intubated and almost died. I am having severe pain around my lower ribs into my back and can hardly take a breath. could that be a sign it might have worsened? I do not have a Debit Card or a Paypal account. Can I still get an answer? Im Extremely short of Breath.
Hi, If you are feeling shortness of breath and with the known case of asthma and COPD,then you should start with Inhaler(MDI or Rotacap) bronchodilators (steroids, alpha agonists, anticholinergics),antiallergics(antihistamines, mast cell stabilizers) with maintenance oral steroids and nebulizers with supplimental oxygen for asthma and COPD. As you are currently treated for URI then you must take full course of antibiotics(quinolones or macrolides group) with other symptomatic treatment as per your symptoms. Kindly consult pulmonologist for further help. Regards,
