General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi there,

The very first thing is to evaluate his lungs' function through:
- chest X-ray
- respiratory functional test (spirometry)

Next, the management plan for COPD aims to control the symptoms and to do daily activities without any problem. Unfortunately, the damages that are already set cannot be reversed, but, symptoms can be well-controlled.

The aim of treatment is to prevent disability, which can rarely occur. The most important thing is to keep following up with his pneumologist for regular follow ups.

All the best!
