Hello.
Thank you for asking at HCM.
I went through your son's history and my suggestions for him are as follows:
1. Montek-LC (
Montelukast +
Levocetirizine) is considered usually safe for long-term use in children. Common side effects are sedation,
drowsiness, impaired concentration (due to levocetirizine) and nausea,
stomach upset (due to montelukast). If your son is not experiencing these side effects, I would suggest it will be safe for him to use it for long time regularly.
2 . Montek-LC, however, cannot cure allergies, it can only control the symptoms of allergies.
3. As he has asthmatic problems also, I would suggest him to use salbutamol or
levosalbutamol inhaler on as-and-when-needed basis for asthma symptoms.
4. I would suggest him allergy testing, which will help him identify the substances he may be allergic to and also to know how to avoid them. Avoidance is the best strategy to prevent allergy symptoms.
5. I would also suggest him a healthy diet rich in vitamins & minerals which will help improve his immunity.
Hope above suggestions will be helpful to him.
Should you have any further query, please feel free to ask at HCM.
Wish him the best of the health.
Thank you & Regards.
