Suggest Treatment For Atopic Eczema

My 12 year old son has been diagnosed with atopic eczema since birth by local peadiatric consultant dermatologist Dr. K.E. Burova at Bedford Hospital. His condition has been deterioting as he is getting older. He has been tested twice for intolerance test for wheat, gluten ,egg white and milk. The RAST test indicated that he has high intolerance to wheat (4), gluten (3), egg white (2) and Milk (1). He follows a wheat free, gluten free, egg free and milk free diet but his condition is not improving. I would like to know what further test can be done to eliminate any other allergies and intolerance so that his condition improves? He has had alternative treatments such as Chinese, homeopathy and traditional herbal medicine which worsen the condition initially but got a little better. I would also like to try chiropractic treatment as an alternative form of treatment? Please let me know what your advise is?

Hello,

Alternative treatment may not be effective. The best possible option is to avoid exposure to the allergen.

Topical steroids also are required in severe cases MD. Consult a pediatrician and he will direct you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
