Suggest Treatment For Autonomic Dysreflexia

husband is a quadriplegic from motorcycle injury 7 years ago. Been having autonomic dysreflexia for three days, the ER doctors prescribed antibiotics though his urine test came back negative. Showed gallstones, kidney stones and cystitis on CT scan and elevated Lipase levels 591 U/L. He is still unable to lie down or tilt back for pressure relief. Any suggestions?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and welcome.

Antibiotics should be used at this point in time, but him being a paraplegic I would think twice before prescribing pain management medications.

So at this point in time he should be using anti-inflammatory medications and cholesterol-lowering medications to help promote the health of your gall bladder.

Best wishes.
