Suggest Treatment For Back And Joint Pain Along With Nausea And Fatigue

I ve had six iron infusions. I go weekly. I thought I was feeling better, but this week has been rough. I have back and joint pain, nausea, and fatigue. I have five more scheduled appointments. I am anxious and unsure about the lack of a diagnosis. I have iron deficiency anemia, but I don t know why I have it. I m not sure what my question is. Perhaps I want affirmation that this process is normal and nothing to worry about.

Hi,

Iron infusions will surely help to improve your hemoglobin. If it is too low then I would advise you to consult a Hematologist for bone marrow biopsy, all relevant tests of blood, urine and stool to know the cause of it.

Iron alone may not help as you need to be investigated for deficiency of other vitamins like A, D, B-complex and have supplements of multivitamins, mineral and trace elements with Folic acid as these too play a vital role in improving hemoglobin and your health.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, General Surgeon
