Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Six days ago I fell down about three stairs and landed on my left arm and lower left back. Bruising on my lower left back appeared a little over 24 hours later. The bruising has now visibly almost disappeared, but getting up from sitting or ling positions has to be carried out very slowly and, even then there is quite a bit of pain. I can walk all right, if a little stiffly.
Based on the history you have shared, you should get X-ray lumbar spine and orthopedician or neurosurgeon review if any signs of pain radiating to lower back or legs is observed, the bruise will disappear in two to three weeks.
Ice application may be needed for bruises but dry heat is helpful for muscle pain, so users must be titrated accordingly.
Meanwhile, OTC analgesics like acetaminophen or Ibuprofen can be helpful for symptomatic relief.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
