Suggest Treatment For Back Pain When On Nitrofurantoin For UTI
Hi, I m currently one dose in of taking nitrofurantoin for a UTI. I m also an occasional medical marijuana user for back pain. Are there any side effects of using both within a few hours of each other? If I smoke marijuana will it inhibit the effectiveness of the antibiotic?

Marijuana can interfere with medications by sometimes masking their effects and some times making them stronger than usual. But I do not think it should cause you any trouble with the nitrofurantoin, although my professional advise would be to avoid marijuana use at least for the next 2 weeks so your antibiotics can do their job well enough.
