General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It may be due muscle sprain. For pain you can take tablet acetaminophen. You can apply diclofenac gel or ointment locally. Heating pads may help. Continue physical therapy. In case of not getting relief, you may require MRI back after orthopedic surgeon consultation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shyam B. Kale, General & Family Physician
