My mother 55 age, recently had higher back pains upto thighs on right side. We had X ray and doctor told that it is slip disc. They adviced 10 day treatment of traction. We took second openion of another doctor and they said that it is lower spondylitis. They adviced a daily walk of 3 km. and no traction treatment. But mother has still huge pains. And we are confused about the treatment. Please YYYY@YYYY
I have studied your case. Usually nerve compression cant be seen on x ray you may need MRI for this. At age of 55 there will be age related spondylitis but if there is any nerve compression then that may need specific treatment.
I will advise you to do MRI spine For these symptoms analgesic and neurotropic[pregabalin] medication can be started consulting your doctor.. Till time, avoid lifting weights, Sit with support to back. You can consult physiotherapist for help. Physiotherapy like ultrasound and interferential therapy will give quick relief.
Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.
Wishing you good health.
Take care.
