Suggest Treatment For Bacterial Infection In The Lungs

My father has a infectious bacteria in his lungs and has been taking antibiotics for almost a year and has been doing well. When it started he was coughing up blood. This morning he started spitting up blood and it was in very large quantity. We decided to take him to emergency at the VA Hospital. They did blood work and it came back ok. They X-Rayed his chest and also did a CatScan. By then he wasn t coughing up blood like in the am. It was very light. The doctor said he wasn t that bad to admit him to the hospital. The tests showed that he did have the problem but that it was clearer than previous tests. He said little bleeding is normal. Go back home and continue with meds. Appt with doctor for next Thursday am. We came home and he was better, but after 2 hours he has been coughing up blood again. Also through his nose. My question is, can there be something else making this happen? Should he go back to DR?

IT would be ideal to consult your doctor at the earliest as the symptoms need a detailed evaluation. Coughing up blood at any given point needs urgent attention.
