Suggest Treatment For Bacterial Vaginosis And Genital Warts

I am 36 weeks pregnant . I recently made an appointment outside of my prenatal appointments to be seen for what I thought was a yeast infection due to the fact I had discharge and also a bump I found in my vagina . Come to find out , I had bacterial vaginosis . I ve had this before and taken antibiotics for it . But my concern is the doctor looked at the bumb and said it looks like a wart.. But not HPV related But he diagnosed it on my paperwork as genital warts . I have not been sexually active my entire pregnancy and in the beginning they did all sorts of tests and exams which came back fine . My concern is that I was misdiagnosed . I have been looking into other possibilities such as vestibular papillae which from images look more like my condition as well as from reading up on it being as the doctor said my bump doesn t look HPV related , vestibular papillae is not HPV related and is commonly mistaken for genital warts.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

It is possible that the lesion is not a wart but to determine if this is the case, you would need to be reassessed by another doctor.

Reassessment and a second opinion would be the best way for you to determine the exact nature of the lesion.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Michelle Gibson James, General & Family Physician
