Loss of hair in a patch on scalp can occur due to many reasons.
Common causes of hair loss is dandruff.
However, dandruff is responsible for generalized hair loss.
Hair loss in a patch is commonly due to disorder called alopecia areata.
Alopecia areata is an autoimmune disorder characterized by hair loss from roots.
Treatment of alopecia areata is primarily steroids.
