Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I recently learned that my home has bed bugs. We are awaiting the 1st of 3 extermination sessions in a day. I am FREAKING out! A couple of weeks ago I woke up with what I thought were a trail of mosquito bites on the inside of my left arm. A couple of days later I awoke to find a similar trail of bites on the inside of the other arm. I now know that they were bed bug bites. Now I have bumps along my labia and close to my anus. Some are itchy and some aren t. A day after I noticed these bumps forming, I noticed that they are coming to a head... almost like a large pimple. They do not hurt though. Could they be bed bug bites; and if so, what should I expect? Thank you!
Hello and welcome to HCM, The bed bug bite leads to formation of erythematous or reddish rash on body. A pimple like bump is unlikely to be due to bed bug bite. The pimple like bumps appear to be due to some other cause. These pimples can be due to boil or furunculosis. The bed bug bite can be managed with anti-histaminic tablets. Bed bug infestation is common in areas with poor hygiene or visiting region or area which is infested with bed bugs. Use of insecticides is required to eliminate the bed bugs from a particular area. I suggest you to consult your primary healthcare provider for clinical assessment to identify bed bug bites and other pimple like lesions.
