Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a bi-lateral ear infection with one ear completely clogged with a ringing sound, and a pulsing sound from my heartbeat. I've been on antibiotics for 6 days and I have 4 days left. Every day things get better, I have no more pain, but the one ear is still blocked. Will I do more damage to my ear/hearing by going to a concert? I would wear ear plugs.. Thank you!
I would suggest you to apply warm dry compresses to external ear . You should keep your ear dry and cover your ear while bathing. Do warm saline gargles and take steam twice a day. Yes there are chances of more damage to ears if sound pitch is very high and you should avoid such events. You should consult ENT specialist for proper diagnosis. Doctor may examine by otoscopic means to check level of infection and start treatment accordingly.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
