Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been BINGE EATING for about 6 months now, I try to eat smaller portions more times a day, But it seems that no matter what I try once I start I cannot stop, I feel bad and want to vomit it all back up (I don t) I have heard that Vyvanse might be good for me
Yes, vyvanse can be effective. Vyvanse which is basically prescribed to treat attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, is also found to be useful to treat moderate to severe binge-eating disorder.
However it may cause insomnia, anxiety, agitation, dry mouth, increased heart beats and blood pressure and dependency.
I would therefore suggest selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors like fluoxetine which is found to be equally effective but with less side effects.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali
